The XXI century will be a сentury either of total all-embracing crisis or of moral and spiritual healing that will reinvigorate humankind. It is my conviction that all of us - all reasonable political leaders, all spiritual and ideological movements, all  faiths - must help in this transition to a triumph of humanism and justice, in making the XXI century a century of a new human renaissance.

1/16

Gorbachev in His Life. Compiled by K. Karagezyan and V. Polyakov. - Moscow, Ves Mir Publishers, 2016, 728 pages + inserts (48 pages), ISBN 978-5-7777-0617-1

Mikhail Gorbachev was present at the launch.

Speakers at the launch included the book's compilers Karen Karagezyan and Vladimir Polyakov (the Gorbachev Foundation), the Gorbachev Foundation's Executive Director Olga Zdravomyslova, Ves Mir Publishers' Director Oleg Zimarin, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ruslan Grinberg, Doctor of History Viktor Kuvaldin, and Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aleksandr Nekipelov.

Pavel Palazhchenko (the Gorbachev Foundation) was hosting the launch.

This somewhat extraordinary book offers an extensive survey of Mikhail Gorbachev's life and work. The book is extraordinary in that it is offers an extensive collection of various interviews, letters, documents, and extracts from memoirs, articles and books by various Russian and foreign writers (including by Mikhail Gorbachev himself).

The book’s compilers sought to make the book an easy-flowing read despite its mosaic structure. Gorbachev in His Life does not duplicate already existing publications covering Mikhail Gorbachev's personality, life and work. The book just aims to highlight some of the milestones in his life journey as reflected in accounts and memoirs of his contempraries.
