The Mystery of EurasiaThe project The Mystery of Eurasia was carried out from 1996 to 2001. It was implemented under Mikhail Gorbachev's patronage and with financial support from the Carnegie Endowment, New York. The project comprised two stages of research - Russia's national interests and security problems and Russia in the emerging global system. It explored various factors affecting Russia’s development, its place and role in the future world order and in the resolution of global problems. |

The XXI century will be a сentury either of total all-embracing crisis or of moral and spiritual healing that will reinvigorate humankind. It is my conviction that all of us - all reasonable political leaders, all spiritual and ideological movements, all faiths - must help in this transition to a triumph of humanism and justice, in making the XXI century a century of a new human renaissance.
