Mikhail Gorbachev meets leaders of the United Nations FoundationOn July 16, 2013, Mikhail Gorbachev met leaders of The United Nations Foundation, an organisation launched to provide support for activities of the United Nations. Participants in the meeting included the UN Foundation’s Founder and Chairman Ted Turner and Members of its Board of Directors – former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan, former Prime Minister of Norway Gro Harlem Brundtland, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov.

The XXI century will be a сentury either of total all-embracing crisis or of moral and spiritual healing that will reinvigorate humankind. It is my conviction that all of us - all reasonable political leaders, all spiritual and ideological movements, all faiths - must help in this transition to a triumph of humanism and justice, in making the XXI century a century of a new human renaissance.
