On July 16, 2013, Mikhail Gorbachev met leaders of The United Nations Foundation, an organisation launched to provide support for activities of the United Nations. Participants in the meeting included the UN Foundation’s Founder and Chairman Ted Turner and Members of its Board of Directors – former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan, former Prime Minister of Norway Gro Harlem Brundtland, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov.
The meeting participants came to Russia for an out-of-headquarters session of the United Nations Foundation’s Board, this year taking place for the first time in St. Petersburg.
