Dear Mr. Gorbachev,
The enclosed "Birthday Card" is from my 11 year old son, Ryan Ashton Noblett. Ryan is legally blind. He is a 5th grade Honors student at Rosewood Elemen-tary School in Rock Hill, South Carolina, U.S.A. Ryan's class is studying the "Post WWII" United Nations and Ryan was chosen to represent the U.S.S.R. dur-ing their debates. Part of their assignment was to write a biography on a fa-mous leader from their chosen country. He chose to write about you! He has become enthralled in researching and reviewing your biographic information. He is very impressed with your career. Ryan would like to know at what age can he join The Gorbachev Foundation? It would absolutely thrill him to know that you received his birthday greeting!! If you could acknowledge with any correspondence that would be wonderful. He would love to share that with his classmates at school. If you are ever in the United States, Ryan would love to meet you and shake your hand. Thank you for your time to read this. We wish you a very happy 77th birthday!
Sincerely,
Dr. Anna Chacknes (Ryan's Mom)
