Former Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev said he would bring out a book on perestroika soon, possibly this month.
"I want to entitle the book 'To Understand Perestroika.' A contract was signed with the publisher this week," Gorbachev told Interfax.
"There remains the problem of understanding perestroika, and it needs to be decided where we should go because the radical liberal course would be the wrong option for us," he said.
Gorbachev said events marking perestroika's 20th anniversary had prompted him to write the book.
