Mikhail Gorbachev meets Germany's Ambassador to Russia Rüdiger von FritschOn 30 November 2015, Mikhail Gorbachev met Rüdiger von Fritsch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation. The meeting was initiated by the Ambassador.
In a conversation, which lasted about an hour and a half, they discussed issues related to the bilateral relations between Russian and Germany and the international situation in general.
Mikhail Gorbachev emphasized the need to make every effort to restore trust between the two countries and ensure normalisation and development of bilateral cooperation. Pooling of efforts between the powers in combating international terrorism and in seeking effective solutions to other global challenges is also urgently needed.
