The XXI century will be a сentury either of total all-embracing crisis or of moral and spiritual healing that will reinvigorate humankind. It is my conviction that all of us - all reasonable political leaders, all spiritual and ideological movements, all  faiths - must help in this transition to a triumph of humanism and justice, in making the XXI century a century of a new human renaissance.

Perestroika History. 35 Years Ago Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan Met in Geneva, November 19 – 21, 1985

The leaders of the Soviet Union and the United States met after a six-year pause in summit-level contacts between the Soviet Union and the United States. After three days of discussions, they adopted a Joint Statement which became an important milestone on the way to ending the Cold War.

At the request of the permanent represntatives of the USSR and the United States at the United Nations, Oleg Troyanovsky and Vernon Walters, the Joint Statement was distributed as an official document of the UN General Assembly.

We are publishing a copy of the document  as well as photos and videos of the Geneva Summit.
