This date is an important milestone in your eventful life journey. Your life and activities in a transformative historic period has given you unique experience, repeatedly facing you with the need to make difficult decisions. These decisions revealed your best qualities as a person, policy-maker, and leader.
Currently, we are going through a historic moment of great complexity and tension which requires our two countries, Russia and Germany, and their leaders, to show a great sense responsibility. I hope that through joint efforts a way out of the current difficult situation will be found.
Dear Angela, I am in a hospital right now but hope that in autumn I will be able to resume more vigorous activity so that we could meet. I always highly value our meetings and discussions.
